I hold a master's degree and a bachelor's degree in the subject of Chemistry. Along with my prior degrees, I am a PhD candidate at Howard University, studying analytical chemistry. During my undergraduate years at Howard, I joined the executive board of the American Chemical Society. While on the board, I gave tutoring lessons to my fellow undergraduates in the chemistry department. My time in graduate school has offered me the chance to act as a professor's aide in chemistry courses and labs. I also help professors to grade papers and assist with lab work. Teaching is one of the things that I truly enjoy in life, as it allows me to help someone else connect the dots. I use my ability to create mental photographs in order to help the students that I tutor map together answers to science concepts. Having to perform my own research gives me ideas on how to explain chemical concepts and aid those that I tutor. When I am not spending time tutoring, I like to spend time playing basketball and pool. Exercising is another hobby that I enjoy when I am on break from school.
